Website Development Process

Committing to a prescribed plan of action is essential to a smooth web development process. The following will give you insight into the numerous decisions a Web initiative entails, introduce you to roles and responsibilities that are required, guide you through a higher-level of Website development, and define some of the important deliverables that will be created in the development and production process.

PHASE 1 — DEFINE THE PROJECT
Perhaps the most important stage, the Discovery stage allows us to best understand and define each business units specific requirements for the project. Careful attention is paid to ensure a detailed exploration that includes an inquiry and analysis of each business units objectives.

During this crucial phase of the project, JSN will define our exact strategy for accomplishing our goals. Once we have defined all of our objectives and our plan of attack.

PHASE 2 — DEVELOP SITE STRUCTURE

Once the visual direction is approved, the graphic “look and feel” of the site begins. Navigation, interface design and functionality are combined with the visual direction.

During various phases in the creative development process, JSN will conduct testing of the site to make sure the navigation and functionality is intuitive.

Various design directions will be created and presented to key stake holders for review. The designs we present are for overall look and feel, and to determine the overall perception and tone of the site.

PHASE 4 — BUILD AND INTEGRATE

Phase four is where everything comes together. Production merges content, design, and HTML/CSS and/or Flash production into the completed site. Here we will identify the bugs, prioritize the fixes, get audience feed back, and iron out the kinks.
