Make sure the image has been sized to fit the page. Typical digital cameras today will create very large images (e.g. 800x600 pixels) which are too big. Use a photo editing program to resize and even touch-up the picture before uploading. There are a lot of free programs and your computer may even have something pre-installed. The following are two possible free and simple programs to use:
For the PC: Ifran View (http://irfanview.com) OR GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/)
For the Mac: GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/)
After the image it prepared, upload it into the Media Manager. It is assumed that you have logged into the administrator panel for Joomla.
| Select the Media Manager under the Site Menu |
|
| Select the 'stories' folder. All images that will be inserted into an article need to be uploaded into this folder. There may be additional folders inside 'stories' that you can upload images into as well. |
|
| Near the bottom of the page, find the 'Upload File' panel. Click the "browse" button. | ![]() |
| A pop-up will appear on your computer. Locate the image to upload and click 'Open' |
|
| Click 'Start Upload' |
|
| The image is uploaded into the media manager. |
